While the search engines and big online retailers may track your data, Acxiom combines that data together with your in-store buying habits to determine your demographic, income level and whether or not you are worth getting special offers. Have you ever had someone at the checkout ask for your zip code? That’s a key piece of data that validates the matchup of virtual and real shopping and other interests.
